Dr Nicholas Doggett BA (Hons), Ph.D, Cert Archaeol, MCIfA, IHBC

Managing Director

Nick is highly experienced and respected in his field, with over thirty years’ experience working in both the private and public sectors – specialising in listed buildings and conservation areas. He has given evidence for both local authorities and appellants at numerous public inquiries and hearings.

Some of the many and diverse projects in which he has recently been involved include a survey for English Heritage of the condition of listed churches throughout England, carrying out work for various Oxford colleges and high-end residential clients in central London, together with advising on development projects across the country for major house builders such as Linden Homes and Barratts.

Sarah trained as an archaeologist before studying architectural history, and has over 20 years’ experience in the heritage sector. She joined Asset Heritage Consulting in 2011 from a private-sector planning consultancy, where she worked from 2002 onwards, and prior to that worked for the University of Birmingham, including coordinating the production of the English Heritage-funded ‘West Midlands Regional Research Framework for Archaeology’, editing the final published volume. Sarah has wide-ranging experience, including carrying out heritage audits, assessments of significance and impact assessments for individual buildings, and appraisals of larger sites and conservation areas as part of the planning process; clients include private individuals as well as corporate clients such as universities, schools, major national and local house-builders and NHS Trusts. She has also given evidence at public inquiry.

Patrick Maguire MA, MSt (Oxf), IHBC

Associate Director

Patrick trained as a classical archaeologist and ancient historian and has a decade of professional experience in the heritage sector. He joined Asset Heritage Consulting in early 2014 from the Buildings & Conservation team at Oxford University Estates Services, where from 2010 he provided guidance on the high-profile listed buildings of this unique estate, producing over 35 conservation plans in this period.

Varied projects since joining Asset have included assessments of significance and impact assessments for both individual buildings and larger sites, as well as broader heritage audits for various clients including several Oxford colleges, major public schools, Plymouth City Council, local and national housing developers, and private individuals. He has provided evidence on behalf of both local authorities and private clients at public inquiries.
