The White Horse Hotel is one of Dorking’s most famous old coaching inns, with a run of listed buildings along the High Street. Behind are a traditional courtyard with modern extensions and a car park. Asset Heritage gave advice on proposals to replace the extensions and some parking spaces with nine dwellings around a shared space. Asset’s heritage report supported the planning application by highlighting what was most important about the Grade II listed hotel and Dorking Conservation Area and how the scheme would enhance both.
